Position summary
The World Resources Institute (WRI) is seeking to an intern for its Capital Markets Research team. The intern will play a key research role in WRI’s work in the area of climate change, markets and enterprise, and finance. WRI is a leading non-profit institution providing analysis, tools, and environmental solutions. (see wri.org/climate) The Capital Markets Research team (capitalmarkets.wri.org) works in partnership with global financial institutions to provide leading environmental and finance research and analysis. The program seeks to build capacity and tools within the financial industry to assess and integrate environmental risk and opportunities into financial valuation and investment strategy. Significant current initiatives focus on scaling up capital formation around low-carbon solutions to climate change, and studying the link between environmental and financial performance in company valuations.

The successful candidate will spend a majority of the time researching, collecting data, and supporting the associates in their work. He/she will therefore have good research skills, and be comfortable spending time looking for reports, figures, and other data. The candidate should be well organized, familiar with current environment issues, and happy to work within a collaborative research team.

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a related field.
Good research skills and ability to collate information in an organized and clear manner.
Excellent computer/internet skills, including ease with Excel and PowerPoint.
Some understanding of environment and sustainability issues.
Results focused, with a strong team orientation, and the ability to work well under pressure towards tight deadlines.
